The Voice thinks that the tree policy is misguided. We are sure that a lot of thought went into the policy. The Voice loves trees but a view should take precedence over a tree. Members should not have to pay to have trees removed on HOA property that obstruct their view. It should be the responsibility of the HOA to protect views even when the tree is on HOA property.

If a tree obstructs a view, then it should be trimmed or removed. If the tree is on HOA property, then the HOA should show leadership and set an example to trim or remove the tree. Safety – We are rather surprised that some pine trees (especially near the pool) were not blow down by the recent winds which could have landed on homes.

Part of the policy is that the homeowner pays for a new tree or trees to replace the tree that was removed.

TO DATE DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE THE NEW TREES ARE OR HAS THE HOA JUST POCKETED THE MONEY?
